There were so many things happening! We had that same sumptuous breakfast at our hotel first thing in the morning.
We made a trip to fisherman’s wharf which apparently was still under construction due for opening in 2006. First stop - we arrived at the attraction which viewed some hundreds steps up to a man-made volcano. Well, we wished the park was opened and bustling with people so we could see the lava spewing, but no we didn't. Later we passed by several features part of the child amusement area... children's heaven, we could imagine! Then down we went, with the guides explaining, we travelled along the streets of colonial reminiscence... and finally the highlight, the roman amphitheatre!
It was the most magnificent feature we had witnessed in the park, a not-to-be-missed! So grand! I wished I was really in Rome! Aww... and picturing that place live with activities; concerts, brimming with music and dazzling lights against that dark night sky! It will be superb as it promised and it will be the reason to come back to Macau one more time! The place was lined with empty shop spaces awaiting for bars, pubs and shops opening for business. There also sits a docking bay for private yachts and cruises! There oversees some of the most breathtaking views in Macau!
We proceeded to the floating casino. Though the casino was not opened for business yet, we got the chance to see our guide trying her luck at the table! Not her day though! Then we went by each table as each game was being described to us. It caught us guessing when some of us felt things around us were swaying back and fro but it was actually the casino shaking quite badly.
We had a weird lunch - with beef tongues and some innards some of us could barely swallowed! Time for fear factor!
We visited the wine museum and grand prix museum. There we got to sample the different wines and walk through the process of wine-making. At the Grand Prix,
there were exhibitions of the most posh and classic racing vehicles.
We were also reminded to take a group photo with the gold lotus which is a national symbol there.
As part of every educational trip, we were given talks at the local tourism school, IFT. The usual lectures and walk-throughs but something that we all like to learn from them is being able to grow their own herbs!
We stopped by the Macau international airport. It was a small airport as we could see. There was only a stamp shop and nothing else. They took us on a ride along the friendship bridge to other islands of Macau before returning to our hotel. When our cohort assembled again at the hotel lobby, we saw Huang Qiu Sheng for the second time with his camera crew but we didn't have the luck for a picture with him.
Another chinese course dinner at metropole! Then we made our way back to the bustling shopping scene... senado square! Found some cute souvenirs for friends at the 10 dollar shop... reminded me of 1.99!
